Mangaluru: Ravi Kavoori, widely known as 'Tikky' Ravi, a former prominent figure in the Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagrana Vedike, has voiced strong concerns over the distressing condition of numerous Hindutva and Sanatana Dharma activists in Dakshina Kannada. Kavoori's candid remarks, made in an old interview to a YouTube channel, recently gained significant traction on social media following discussions around Sandeep Poojary's Facebook post.

Kavoori highlighted that hundreds, even thousands, of dedicated activists who risked their lives for the cause in the district now struggle with basic necessities. Many, he stated, live without adequate food, shelter, employment, or even personal transport like cars or bikes, remaining unmarried due to their circumstances. "Original Sanatana activists are still there. If anyone challenges, I will bring them and show them. I am including myself in this. I have nothing but a vehicle to travel," he asserted.

Expressing deep regret, Ravi lamented that trusting certain individuals acting as 'imposters' in the name of Sanatana Dharma and Hindutva had "ruined our lives." He questioned the lack of concern from leaders, stating, "We are in a situation where we feel like drinking poison and dying. Has anyone come and asked how our situation is?" He contrasted this with his belief that if he had pursued other work, he "could have been in a position to provide employment to a hundred people."

While critical, Kavoori acknowledged some personal assistance. He recalled Nalin Kumar Kateel helping him with financial difficulties "a year or two ago" and Shrikar Prabhu providing an Alto car for his use after his release on bail in 2012. "I will never forget those who gave me food and helped me in difficult times," he added.

Advising current Hindutva activists, Kavoori urged them to prioritize their families and homes before religious work. "First take care of your mother, father, sisters, and relatives. First, our home compound must be strong. Then Sanatana Dharma," he advised, cautioning against falling victim to 'imposters' as he claims he did. He expressed sadness that only Nalin Kumar Kateel had inquired about his well-being, unlike other prominent leaders. "They used all of us like sheep. But no one is thinking about us," he concluded, drawing a stark comparison to how organizations of other religions care for their activists.
