On July 30, a schoolgirl from Tripura’s Sabroom subdivision disappeared after leaving her home in the Palpara area under Thaibung Gram Panchayat, supposedly to attend private coaching classes. The girl, along with another schoolgirl, had left their homes at around 5:30 a.m. but never reached the coaching centre, prompting a search by their families and local residents. The guardian of one of the girls managed to locate her at Sabroom railway station, rescuing her from a train just before it was set to depart. However, the second girl remains untraced. The family of the missing girl has filed a complaint at Sabroom Police Station, and an investigation has been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance. Preliminary information suggests that the girl may have fallen into a 'love trap' and been taken to another state. The police are examining all possible angles, including recovering a mobile phone from the girl’s guardians as part of the investigation. The incident has raised concerns among Palpara area residents, who are hoping for the student’s safe return. This is not the first such incident in the area, as a similar case was reported in March where a 12-year-old schoolgirl from the Damdamia Bhumihin Tila area under Sabroom police station was reported missing for over a week.
