On June 9, Dr. Ashok, District Hospital Surgeon in Udupi, addressed the fake news circulating on social media regarding the Udupi District Hospital Blood Fund Center. The rumors claimed that on June 7, the blood bank gave 15 units of blood to a private hospital without proper documentation. However, Dr. Ashok stated that these allegations are completely false. The distribution of blood from the District Hospital Blood Bank follows strict guidelines set by the Government of Karnataka and the Drugs and Cosmetic Act 1940. Each unit of blood is distributed only after verifying necessary documents and completing the required registrations.

Dr. Ashok explained that blood was distributed to Adarsha Hospital, which operates the Blood Storage Unit, in accordance with government guidelines. He emphasized that distributing blood without documentation is not possible. A complaint has been filed at the Udupi Nagar Police Station regarding the false news on social media. Dr. Ashok has requested the police to conduct a thorough investigation and take strict action against those responsible. The hospital adheres to standard procedures, ensuring that all blood units are distributed legally and safely.
