On Sunday, June 28, in Udupi, a special program titled 'Suru Noorara Sadagara' was held at the IYC Sabhabhavan of Udupi Kalaranga to mark the handover of the 100th house built by Udupi Yakshagana Kalaranga to underprivileged artists and students. The program was inaugurated by Srivishwavallabhathirtha Swamiji of Udupi Sode Vadiraja Mutt, who emphasized the significance of Yakshagana in preserving Dharma prajja. He also commended Yakshagana Kalaranga for its efforts in promoting art and religion. Dr. H.S. Ballal, Vice-Chancellor of Mahe, presided over the event and suggested that houses should be built for all poor students, not just the talented ones, to provide them with better facilities and opportunities to excel. M. Raghavendra Bhat, MD & CEO of Karnataka Bank, released the 'Suru Noorar' volume, while Ananda C. Kunder of Geetananda Foundation Kota delivered the eulogy. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Kiran Kodgi, and Gururaj Gantihole. The sponsors, laborers, and helpers who contributed to the construction of the 100 houses were honored, and a transplanted mango plant was distributed to the beneficiaries. The 100th house was built for a second PUC student in Kulmunda village, Hebri taluk, at a cost of 7 lakhs, sponsored by VidyaPoshak. The house was inaugurated by Dr. Udaya Kumar Saralattaya, Dewan of Pariya Shiruru Math.
