On June 29, Udupi district, including Kundapura, experienced good rainfall from Sunday night onwards. An Orange Alert has been issued for the coastal districts, including Udupi, for the next one week, starting from June 30 to July 6. This is the first time that all seven taluks in the district have received rainfall of almost the same intensity after the official monsoon season began. Previously, only one or two taluks would receive rainfall, while the others would remain dry. However, since morning, the district has been experiencing a natural monsoon atmosphere, with occasional gusts of wind and rain, bringing down the temperature.

In Kundapura and Byndoor, good rainfall was reported from Sunday night to Monday evening, with gusts of wind and rain throughout the day. A tree fell on a house in Karkunje village, causing partial damage estimated to be around Rs 40,000. The India Meteorological Department has issued an Orange Alert for the coastal region, warning of heavy rain and strong winds for the next week.

The district administration has issued guidelines for the public, advising them to stay indoors during heavy rain and strong winds, and to avoid traveling to rivers, sea, or other water bodies. The public is also advised to avoid standing under trees or near electric poles and to keep away from damaged or hanging electric wires. The district administration has also warned of possible landslides in some areas and has advised people living in such areas to contact the local authorities and move to safer locations.

The district disaster management authority has set up a control room with a toll-free number, 1077, and a phone number, 0820-2574802, for the public to contact in case of emergencies. The public can also contact the local taluk offices for assistance.
