On July 4, in Udupi, Minister UT Khader instructed officials to coordinate and respond promptly to natural calamities during the monsoon season. He emphasized the need for all departments to work together to address the issue. Khader, who is also the district in-charge minister, was speaking at a meeting held at the Dr. VS Acharya auditorium in Manipal to discuss the damage caused by rain and drinking water issues.

He instructed officials to provide immediate assistance to those affected by natural calamities, including Rs 5,000 as relief in case of damage to houses, Rs 5 lakh in case of death, and Rs 1.20 lakh for completely damaged houses, in addition to Rs 3.75 lakh from the Rajiv Gandhi Housing Corporation for reconstruction. Khader also directed officials to take measures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases during the monsoon season and to create awareness among the public about health education.

He instructed local authorities to take necessary steps to control the population of stray dogs and to ensure that commercial establishments that breed mosquitoes have their licenses revoked. Khader also emphasized the need to provide timely assistance to farmers affected by the monsoon and to take measures to prevent the spread of diseases among livestock.

The meeting was attended by MLAs Yashpal Suvarna, Gururaj Shetty, Kiran Kumar, and others. Khader instructed officials to form coordination committees to address natural calamities and to work together to mitigate the effects of the monsoon season.
