On Wednesday, Pune Rural Police conducted a meticulous recreation of the Ketan Agarwal murder scene at Lohagad Fort in Maharashtra, a crucial step in their ongoing investigation. As part of this exercise, investigators threw a fibre dummy, matching the victim’s height and weight, into a 300-feet deep gorge to reconstruct the events surrounding the crime. This detailed procedure aimed to determine the exact sequence of events on June 18, when 26-year-old real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal was murdered. The accused, Siya Goyal and Chetan Babulal Chaudhary, are currently in police custody, which was extended by a Maharashtra court on Monday for five more days. The police had requested this extension to complete several crucial aspects of the probe, including recreating the crime scene with both accused present and tracing Chetan’s movements after the incident. Earlier, the police conducted a ‘gait analysis’ of Chetan Chaudhary, which involved examining his movements on the day of the incident. The police also recovered the trousers Chetan was wearing on the day of the crime. Meanwhile, an old video has emerged, showing Ketan Agarwal celebrating with his and Siya’s parents at a family function in Pune, just over a month before his murder. The video, dated May 7, was posted on Instagram by singer Reetu Sharma, who performed at the function.
