On October 31, the Kodi Bearys Group of Educational Institutions will mark a significant milestone for its 'Swachh Kadalatheera Hasiru Kodi' (Clean Beach Green Kodi) campaign, celebrating its 50th edition in Kundapura. This enduring initiative consistently mobilizes communities for environmental protection and beach cleanliness.

Held every fourth Saturday of the month, the campaign fosters extensive collaboration among various government departments, social organizations, NGOs, students, and the general public. It aims to instill public awareness about preserving coastal ecosystems. Key partners include the Coastal Security Police, Forest Department, Municipality, Local Administration, Revenue Department, and several public service units. These entities join hands with volunteer groups and local residents to amplify the message that environmental conservation is a collective societal responsibility, not merely an institutional one.

The upcoming 50th campaign on October 31 expects robust participation from Eco Club, NCC, NSS, Scout-Guides, Rangers-Rovers, Kodi Bearys students, SDMC members, and local villagers.

Syed Mohammed Beary, Convener of Haji K. Moydin Beary Education Trust, highlighted the importance of individual responsibility. "A beautiful world is a natural creation, and every individual must possess the awareness and responsibility to protect nature and maintain cleanliness," he stated. Beary noted the institution launched this program on September 29, 2021, under the banner of 'World Green Building Week', adding that "50 months have passed since organizing this program" and that the World Green Building Council has commended their efforts.

Abdul Rahman Beary, President of Kodi Bearys Group of Educational Institutions, reflected on the journey. "When we commenced this cleanliness drive five years ago, the initial response was not as anticipated. However, gradually, we received excellent cooperation from people, various departments, and organizations," he shared. He emphasized the campaign's underlying goal of protecting nature and sea turtles, aligning with the institution's president, Syed Beary's vision for children to develop environmental concern alongside their education.

Siddique Beary, a Trustee, stressed the vital role of youth. "The participation of Gen-Z youth holds special significance for environmental awareness," he noted. "When students gain practical experience alongside textbook knowledge, it cultivates environmental love, social responsibility, volunteerism, and a concern for public cleanliness."

Dr. Asif underscored the broader impact, calling the initiative a "step that proclaims the importance of collective responsibility and continuous service towards environmental protection." He urged everyone to join hands to make the campaign a 'movement' for clean beaches, a clean environment, and a healthy society.

The continuous efforts by Kodi Bearys, supported by diverse stakeholders, have garnered widespread appreciation. The campaign consistently advocates for beach and public place cleanliness, plastic pollution control, and the critical importance of environmental preservation. It reiterates that building a clean environment remains everyone's responsibility, urging the public to actively participate in building a cleaner society.
