The Jayashreekrishna Parisara Premi Samiti, a non-governmental organization dedicated to coastal Karnataka's development for over two decades, recently convened its 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Peninsula Grand Hotel in Sakinaka, Mumbai. The gathering marked the NGO's entry into its 27th year of service, with leaders urging renewed commitment to public welfare initiatives.

Presiding over the session, President Nityananda D. Kotian commended the foundational efforts of Thonse Jayakrishna A. Shetty and all who contributed since the Samiti's inception. Kotian, a long-standing member himself, called upon the association's members to collaborate with renewed enthusiasm on upcoming plans. He specifically lauded District Working President Hariesh Kumar Shetty and his team for the successful organization of the Samiti's Silver Jubilee celebrations in Mangaluru. Kotian affirmed the NGO's continued dedication to its mission, noting the awareness of its activities among political leaders and emphasizing sustained efforts for the development of coastal districts through socially beneficial projects.

Founder Thonse Jayakrishna A. Shetty underscored the collective dedication and unity that enabled the successful 25th-anniversary Silver Jubilee. He highlighted the presence of prominent political dignitaries, including two senior state ministers, at the celebrations, which provided a platform to discuss critical regional development issues. Shetty stressed the importance of integrating younger generations into the Samiti's future activities. He reiterated the NGO's consistent efforts in bringing coastal districts' challenges to the government's attention, stating that the onus now rests with authorities to act. He noted that approximately 80 percent of various district development initiatives had been completed under Hariesh Kumar Shetty's leadership, with government intervention crucial for the remaining work.

Looking ahead, the association plans to adopt resolutions addressing significant public interest concerns. These include constructing protective barriers against coastal erosion, ensuring a 24-hour uninterrupted electricity supply, and actively working towards eradicating communalism. Honorary General Secretary Mundkur Surendra Salian presented the previous year's annual report and minutes, while Honorary Treasurer Sadananda N. Acharya provided the financial statement. The Samiti pledges to persistently advocate for public issues with the government, prioritizing the welfare of present and future generations.
