The US federal judge, Nicholas Garaufis, granted the Justice Department’s motion to dismiss the charges, which included securities-fraud conspiracy, wire-fraud conspiracy, and securities fraud. Adani welcomed the decision, saying he accepted it with "humility" and "deep respect" for the judicial process. The dismissals were with prejudice, meaning the charges cannot be refiled. Gandhi claimed that there is much more to this than meets the eye, implying that the case dismissal has significant implications for India. The US court’s decision has sparked a political debate in India, with Gandhi questioning the government’s role in the case. The Adani Group has consistently denied the allegations, stating that it acted in accordance with applicable law. The Justice Department had asked for the charges to be dismissed in May, citing jurisdictional and evidentiary challenges.
