On June 29, in Udupi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Abid Gadyal urged people to reduce their mobile phone usage and develop a reading habit. He made this statement after inaugurating the 200th library under the Manege Granthalaya campaign at the office of the Deputy Director of the Department of Pre-University Education. The Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Udupi Taluk unit, organized this event. Gadyal praised the initiative, saying it inspires people to turn towards books. He suggested that government offices with such libraries should encourage visitors to read while they are there. This, he believes, will help people enhance their knowledge and personality through reading. The event was attended by several notable figures, including Dr. Harishchandra, Maruthi, and Vishwanath Shenoy. Raviraj H. P., President of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Udupi Taluk, gave the introductory speech, while Raghavendra Prabhu Karvalu compered the program. The establishment of these libraries is seen as a positive step towards promoting book culture in the region.
