Kundapur: A combined Freshers' Day and Student Parliament ceremony took place at Sri Venkataramana Pre-Graduate College on Saturday, beginning with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp. Harshvardhan Shetty Katkeri, Managing Director of Srishti Infotech and a Member of the Academic Council of Purnaprajna College, attended as the chief guest. He told students that consistent hard work forms the foundation of achievement. “Keeping a firm goal and working hard every day can achieve the impossible,” he said.

K. Radha Krishna Shenai, Secretary of the Sri Venkataraman Institute, presided over the function. He urged students to pursue quality education and grow into responsible citizens. The college also recognised academic excellence by honouring ten students who secured ranks within the top 5,000 in the CET examination. Each received a silver cup and a letter of congratulation.

Dignitaries on the dais included organisation treasurer K. Lakshmi Narayana Shenai, College Principal Sandeep Ganiga, Vice Principal Sujay Kotegar, and Senior Chemistry Lecturer Rama Kant Revankar. A magic show by Prakash Hemmadi entertained the gathering. Hindi lecturer Sukita Suvarna read out the list of student council members, while English lecturer Amrita announced the names of the honourees. Student Gauri introduced the guests, Aisha Samiya delivered felicitations, Asmita gave the welcome address, and Ajka compered the programme.
