Toddler Orphaned After Couple Found Dead in Kadaba Rental Home
Mangaluru: A couple was discovered dead in their rented residence at Kaje near Alankaru in Kadaba taluk on Saturday, leaving their two-year-old daughter without parents. The incident came to light when neighbors noticed no movement from the house and alerted authorities.
The deceased are Dinesh, a native of Bajagoli, and Sangeetha of Siddakatte. Dinesh operated a hotel business in Alankaru and lived there with his wife and child. Police suspect Dinesh killed his wife before hanging himself. Sources indicate the couple had domestic disputes and stayed away from the home for nearly a month before returning Friday evening.
When officers entered the house Saturday morning, they found Sangeetha dead inside and Dinesh hanging. The couple's toddler daughter was reportedly found crying beside her parents' bodies — a scene that has deeply moved local residents.
Kadaba Police Sub-Inspector Jamburaj and his team inspected the spot. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Police have registered a case and are investigating the exact circumstances of the deaths.
The tragedy has stunned the Alankaru area, with widespread sympathy directed at the orphaned child. Community members are discussing how to support the toddler, who now faces an uncertain future without her parents.
