On July 15, Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone for Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centre at Bharat Future City near Hyderabad, underscoring his government’s commitment to development. Reddy emphasized the importance of sector-specific policies in attracting global investors, citing the Telangana Rising 2047 framework and dedicated plans for health and education. The event follows a framework agreement between AWS and the state, worth Rs 60,000 crore, signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025. Reddy expressed his desire for Amazon to invest Rs 1 lakh crore, which he believes will help the state achieve its goal of a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and USD 3 trillion by 2047.

The Chief Minister announced plans for monthly review meetings to address Amazon’s requests and clear pending issues, with government advisor K Ramakrishna Rao tasked with convening these meetings. Reddy also highlighted Bharat Future City’s potential as a world-class investment and infrastructure hub, with Amazon expected to draw Fortune 500 companies to the area. The state aims to contribute at least 10 per cent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a USD 30 trillion national economy by 2047, with Telangana targeting a USD 3 trillion economy.

IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu noted that the government functions as a facilitator, rather than a regulator, and announced a dedicated data centre park at Aloor with uninterrupted power and water supply. The state’s Telangana Rising 2047 policy, backed by single-window mechanisms for faster approvals, is designed to support this mission, with Reddy emphasizing the need for support to compete with China and achieve the state’s economic goals.
