On Sunday, July 12, a security alert was triggered at the iconic Taj Hotel in Mumbai after a man called the Navi Mumbai Police Control Room at 12:13 a.m., claiming that Dawood had planted a bomb at the hotel. The Mumbai Police immediately relayed the information to the relevant teams, and the hotel was placed on high alert. Teams from the Colaba Police, Crime Branch, and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad rushed to the hotel to conduct an extensive search operation. The search teams thoroughly checked the hotel's main lobby, swimming pool, banquet halls, restaurants, parking area, and outer premises but found no suspicious object or explosive. After an exhaustive inspection, the police confirmed that the bomb threat was a hoax. The call was traced to the Turbhe area of Navi Mumbai, and the police have launched a search to identify and arrest the caller. The Taj Hotel, located in the Colaba area, was a target in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack, which killed 166 people and injured hundreds. This incident comes after a similar bomb threat was received by the Mumbai Police on Saturday, claiming that the Red Fort in Delhi would be blown up, which was also declared a hoax. The Delhi Police had alerted the North District Police, and an extensive search of the monument was conducted, but no suspicious object or explosive material was found.
