On September 25, the South Karnataka Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha will unveil a 31‑foot bronze statue of Kirtishesha Shri Madhava Mangala Pujari at the Sri Mahalakshmi Temple premises in Ucchila, Dakshina Kannada. The ceremony, scheduled for 10 a.m., marks the culmination of a three‑crore‑rupee project commissioned by the Mogaveera community.
Built to honor the last guru in the Mogaveera lineage, the statue weighs roughly 14,000 kilograms and was erected after a thorough assessment by the Ashtamangala committee, which recommended its placement at the Ucchila shrine. Community members view the monument as a symbol of unity, devotion to the guru, and the grandeur of their heritage, intended to inspire future generations.
Alongside the statue unveiling, a newly constructed student hostel for under‑privileged youth will be inaugurated, and honorariums will be presented to distinguished gurus. State Kannada and Culture Minister Shivraj Tangadagi will reveal the bronze figure, while Welfare of Backward Classes Minister Rizwan Arshad will distribute the honorariums. Dr. J. Shankar of Nadoja will preside over the event.
The gathering will feature a host of dignitaries, including Lok Sabha MP Kot Shri Nivas Pujari, legislators Suresh Shetty Gurme and Yashpal A. Suvarna, Deputy Commissioner T.K. Swarup, Udupi JPMA CEO Prateek Bayal, former ministers Pramod Madhwaraj and Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLA Lalaji R. Mendon, entrepreneurs Anand C. Kunder Kot, Prasad Raj Kanchan, and senior Mogaveera leaders such as Vice‑President Vedprakash Shriyan, Mumbai Chapter President Ganesh Kanchan, and President Santosh Putran. Representatives from women’s groups, fishermen’s unions and village councils across coastal Karnataka are also expected in large numbers.
The South Karnataka Mogaveera Mahajana Sangha has announced that the event will showcase the community's collective spirit and ensure the successful launch of these cultural and educational initiatives.
