The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Udupi District Mahila Morcha recently hosted its "Angan Ka Milan" program at Vasuki Sabhabhavana in Belve, Kundapura. Part of the broader Seva Sankalpa Abhiyan, the event aimed to acknowledge and celebrate the dedicated service of Anganwadi workers and assistants across the region.
Presiding over the gathering, District Mahila Morcha President Sandhya Ramesh highlighted the pivotal role of Anganwadi workers. She described them as the "first light" guiding children's health and cultural development, emphasizing that the Milan program served as a platform to recognize their invaluable contributions. Ramesh reiterated the Mahila Morcha's guiding principle: "Service is Organization," reflecting their continuous engagement with community welfare.
Kuthyar Naveen Shetty, the District President, spoke about the significant strides in women's empowerment achieved under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He commended the Mahila Morcha's vision, which views the Anganwadi system as a crucial cultural hub for shaping the India of tomorrow.
Kundapura Assembly Constituency MLA A. Kiran Kumar Kodgi further elaborated on the reach of central government initiatives through these grassroots centers. He noted how schemes like Poshan Abhiyan, Sukanya Samriddhi, and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana effectively reach the remotest child via Anganwadis. Kodgi also referenced PM Modi's 25-year journey of service, which has evolved from Antyodaya (uplifting the poorest) to Sarvodaya (welfare for all).
A key part of the program involved honoring Anganwadi workers and assistants for their tireless efforts. Learning materials were also distributed to children, and attendees had the opportunity to hear testimonials directly from beneficiaries of Central Government schemes.
Several other prominent figures attended the event, including State Mahila Morcha General Secretary Shilpa Suvarna, Kundapura Mandal President Suresh Shetty Gopadi, and District Seva Sankalpa Convener Dinakar Shetty Herga. Also present were District General Secretaries Srikant Nayak and Reshma Uday Shetty, District Secretaries Girish Anchan and Shivakumar Ambalpady, Mandal General Secretary Sudhir K.S., and local leaders Balakrishna Shetty, Chandrashekhara Shetty, and Radha.
The program commenced with a welcome address by District Mahila Morcha General Secretary Usha Shetty, was compered by Kundapura Mandal Yuva Morcha Vice President Sudarshan, and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by District Mahila Morcha Secretary Jyothi Ramesh.
