On Saturday, 25 October, the Rachana Catholic Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a members' convention at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru, to mark the symbolic start of Rachana Trade Expo 2027.
Michael D'Souza, a senior chamber official, presented the expo logo and welcomed the large turnout of entrepreneurs. He highlighted the chance for members to create fresh business opportunities by introducing their enterprises to one another. While noting the closure of many traditional firms, he praised the rise of new ventures and pledged full support for the upcoming event.
The three‑day expo is slated for 26, 27 and 28 February 2027. Leslie Rego, the convener, outlined the project’s ambition to boost regional trade and innovation.
Roy Castelino, president of Rachana for the occasion, described the expo as an ideal platform for showcasing products and services, tapping new markets, engaging customers and forging partnerships.
Walter Nandalike applauded the chamber for organising its first trade fair, and Dion Monteiro urged young people to look beyond overseas jobs and consider building businesses at home.
During the ceremony, a brochure detailing the expo was released, car stickers were handed out as symbolic tokens, and the president briefed attendees on preparation milestones and future action plans. The event concluded with Alwyn Rodrigues, the chamber secretary, delivering a vote of thanks.
