Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav commenced a four-day visit to Dubai on Sunday, September 6, initiating high-level dialogues aimed at attracting significant investments and strengthening bilateral economic ties with the United Arab Emirates. During his initial engagements, CM Yadav met with Deepak Mittal, the Indian Ambassador to the UAE, and E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Consul General of India in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
Discussions during these crucial meetings centered on leveraging the Indian Mission's role to foster greater economic cooperation and forge robust business and investment linkages between Madhya Pradesh and the UAE. Yadav specifically sought the mission's assistance in connecting the state with UAE Sovereign Wealth Funds, leading corporate groups, various business organisations, and institutional investors, with the clear objective of drawing increased capital into Madhya Pradesh.
The Chief Minister also extended an invitation to both Ambassador Mittal and Consul General Reddy to attend the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2027. Madhya Pradesh is actively preparing to host this summit as a key platform to highlight its diverse investment opportunities and engage directly with global investors.
Speaking to reporters, the MP Chief Minister emphasised that investment discussions should be framed around mutual opportunities and benefits. He underscored the vast potential within Madhya Pradesh across numerous sectors. "When we engage with investors, it is a two-way dialogue," Yadav stated, adding, "There is immense scope for all types of investment in Madhya Pradesh. Be it in mining or industry, encompassing heavy industry, MSMEs, and the hospitality sector."
He further detailed the state's burgeoning strengths, identifying renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, textiles, logistics, advanced manufacturing, and urban infrastructure as prime areas for investment. The development of a 'Science City' in Madhya Pradesh was also highlighted as a promising avenue for innovation, technology, and investment.
Later, CM Yadav held a separate meeting with Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi and other members, extending a direct invitation to them for GIS 2027. Conversations also explored opportunities in food processing and agriculture, focusing on bolstering value chains and developing essential infrastructure for processing, storage, transportation, and export of agricultural products. Cold chain infrastructure, agricultural logistics, and potential long-term export avenues were also on the agenda, as Madhya Pradesh seeks to capitalise on its agricultural prowess and improve international market connectivity. This visit forms part of a broader strategy to expand Madhya Pradesh's engagement with international investors and build stronger economic partnerships ahead of the 2027 summit.
