The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) in Doha, Qatar, recently organised a ceremony to bid farewell to Dr Eish Singhal, First Secretary (Labour & Community Welfare, Visa and OCI) at the Embassy of India. The event marked the successful completion of his dedicated tenure in the Gulf nation, bringing together senior embassy officials, leaders of Indian apex bodies, and representatives from numerous affiliated community organisations.
Attendees gathered to commend Dr Singhal's accessible leadership, consistent support, and profound commitment to the welfare of the Indian expatriate community. Among the distinguished guests were Mr Sandeep Kumar, Charge d'Affaires and Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the Embassy of India, and Mr Harish Pandey, First Secretary, alongside management committee members of various Indian apex bodies and presidents of community associations.
A significant highlight of the evening was the felicitation led by Karnataka Sangha Qatar (KSQ), a prominent community organisation operating under the Embassy's patronage. Representing KSQ, President Mr Subramanya Hebbagelu; Advisory Board Member and ICBF General Secretary Mr Deepak Shetty; former ICC President Mrs Milan Arun; Vice-President Mr Anil Bhasagi; General Secretary Mr Sujith Kumar Hosadurga; and Media and Social Media Secretary Mr Prashant Hiremath presented Dr Singhal with a traditional Karnataka shawl. They conveyed their earnest wishes for his future endeavours.
During the felicitation, the KSQ delegation lauded Dr Singhal's active engagement with the community, his prompt intervention in welfare-related issues, and his steadfast support for socio-cultural and charitable initiatives. In his valedictory address, Dr Singhal expressed heartfelt gratitude to ICBF, Karnataka Sangha Qatar, and the broader Indian diaspora for their warmth, cooperation, and unwavering commitment to community welfare throughout his diplomatic service in Doha.
