On Wednesday, the BJP Yuva Morcha staged a protest at Freedom Park in Bengaluru, calling for the resignation of Minister B. Nagendra over his alleged involvement in a multi-crore scam in the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation. The protest was led by BJP Yuva Morcha Bengaluru Central district president Jagadish R. Chandra, who argued that Nagendra should step down as the investigation into the scam is still ongoing. Chandra pointed out that Nagendra had previously resigned due to the controversy and should not be given another chance to serve as a minister.

The BJP Yuva Morcha workers raised slogans accusing the Congress high command and Rahul Gandhi of being shareholders in the tribal welfare scam. Chandra criticized the Congress government for failing to protect the interests of farmers, students, and women, and accused the government of neglecting the concerns of these groups. He also criticized the recent Cabinet expansion, noting that no women were given ministerial berths.

Minister B. Nagendra responded to the protest, dismissing the allegations against him as 'ridiculous' and claiming that the demand for his resignation was politically motivated. He argued that the charges against him were before the court and that the trial was ongoing. Nagendra alleged that the BJP was targeting him because of the Congress party’s success in the state, particularly in Ballari district where the Congress swept all five Assembly constituencies.
