On the premises of Nitte Mahalinga Adyantaya Memorial Institute of Technology in Karkala, the inaugural program for first-year B.Tech students admitted in 2026 took place at the institution’s new amphitheater. Dr. Shantharam Shetty, Pro-Chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University, emphasized the importance of developing skills that cater to current needs, thereby enhancing employment opportunities. He also stressed the significance of engaging in sports and cultural activities alongside technical education to ensure overall well-being. Dr. M.S. Moodithaya, Vice-Chancellor of Nitte Deemed to be University, provided guidance on preparing for the competitive world. Prof. Dr. Gopal Mugeraya, Vice President of the Technical Education Division, shared the history and growth of Nitte educational institutions with the new students and their parents. The event was attended by several notable figures, including Dr. Harsha Halahalli, Registrar, and Dr. Prasad B. Shetty, Controller of Examinations. Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar, Principal of Nitte Institute of Technology, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Dr. Joy Martis delivered the vote of thanks. The program was compered by Premitha Kamath, Assistant Professor in the MCA department. The annual magazine ‘Nidarshan 2026’ was also released on this occasion. Following the formal program, Dr. Niranjan N. Chiplunkar outlined the journey and policies of Nitte Institute of Technology.
