On June 30, Karnataka launched the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls, a month-long exercise directed by the Election Commission of India. Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door-to-door visits until July 29 to verify voter details and collect necessary documents across the state. In Bengaluru, the Urban District Administration has set up a dedicated helpline at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to facilitate the revision process and address public grievances. Residents of specific assembly constituencies, including Yelahanka and Mahadevapura, can use this facility for assistance. The helpline is available at 080-22967200 or via email at adeobangaloreurban@gmail.com during office hours. Additionally, citizens can reach out through the district administration’s social media handles on Facebook, Instagram, and X. During the house-to-house verification, BLOs will distribute SIR application forms for corrections, inclusions, and deletions. Citizens are advised to submit duly filled forms with supporting documents, such as Aadhaar and voter ID. According to Chief Electoral Officer Anbu Kumar, the draft electoral roll will be published on August 5, with subsequent deadlines for objections and claims. The Election Commission urges citizens to cooperate with BLOs to ensure an accurate voter list.
