On September 13, United Loretto Friends (ULF) gathered at the Grand Excelsior Hotel Hall in Bur Dubai for its Annual Day combined with the traditional Monthi Fest, drawing members, families, donors, sponsors and volunteers from the Mangalorean diaspora.
The programme opened at 11:30 a.m. under the emcee Mr. Floyd Moras, who set a warm tone for the day. A devotional start featured the Marian Choir, with Mr. Uttam Menezes leading the voices and Mr. Archilles Fernandes on keyboard, delivering Konkani hymns and Marian songs that echoed through the hall.
Children then led a floral procession, each presenting blossoms to Mother Mary's statue before a prayer led by Joint Secretary Mrs. Gleveena Aranha. The ceremony concluded with the customary sharing of Novem milk, a symbolic gesture of the Monthi Fest.
Later, the formal stage programme welcomed distinguished guests: Rev. Fr. Lancy Noel Rebello, Guest Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Jebel Ali and native of Omzoor, served as Chief Guest; Mr. Anil Pinto, Chief Coordinator of the St. Michael Mangalorean Konkani Community, Sharjah; and Mr. Adith Lobo, Chief Coordinator of the Jebel Ali Konkani Community. ULF President Mr. Donald Noronha delivered the welcome address, followed by flower bouquet felicitation.
Secretary Mrs. Jevita Rodrigues presented the ULF Annual Report for 2025–26, outlining the organisation’s activities and contributions. Rev. Fr. Lancy Noel Rebello then addressed the audience, stressing unity and service within the community.
In keeping with ULF's motto “Unity and Service,” Mr. Ignatius Denis Dantis received a Maanpatr citation, shawl, peta, flowers and a fruit basket for his lifelong dedication to the Church. Treasurer Mr. Roy D’Souza read the citation, and Mr. Dantis shared reflections on his years of service.
The event also featured the induction of a new member and a cultural programme showcasing traditional music and dance, reinforcing the community spirit that defines ULF's celebrations.
