The Dangers of Eating in Bed
If you are a fan of eating while you are lying in bed, then you should check out this story that is stranger than fiction and will definitely change your behavior.
A doctor from Singapore revealed the motive behind the warning about the danger of eating in bed, and Dr. Sam, who says he is a “general practitioner”, narrated in a video clip on the “Tik Tok” application the story of a 24-year-old Chinese man from Guangdong, China, who was used to He left food packages scattered around his bed.
He said: One night I woke up because of a sharp pain in my ear, and after my family took a look inside my ear, they were disturbed by what they saw, then they took me to see the doctor, who found a cockroach living in my ear.
Cockroach and its young
He pointed out that the cockroach was greatly disturbing the man, because he was crawling inside, and the surprise was when the doctor found a whole family of 10 small cockroaches, according to what the newspaper “New York Post” quoted Dr. Sam.
Although it rarely happens, he said, he warned that it could happen to anyone, and said that cockroaches are not the only ones that can crawl into the ear, pointing out that cockroaches are attracted to the smell of earwax.
He continued: In addition to the fact that the ear canal is a dark and damp environment, the cockroaches used this man’s ear as a base to make a run in the middle of the night to get food that was always close to him.
Dr. Sam gave some tips for what you should do if you discover an insect in your ear, as follows:
1- Don’t panic
He said that there is no need to panic because the ear canal is a dead end and is not directly connected to the brain.
2- Do not try to extract it
You should not attempt to extract the insect yourself, as you may end up doing more harm to yourself than the insect.
3- Dumping the insect
The doctor said that the way to get rid of the insect is to drown it instead of extracting it, and he showed a video clip of a man pouring “hydrogen peroxide” in his ear to get out a spider living in it, but he advised only using olive oil to drown the insect or remove it from the ear, except that he advised to visit the doctor first before doing so.
