Team India announced for Test and ODI series against West Indies

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today announced Team India for the series. Rumors that Rohit Sharma will be rested from this tour have been put to rest, Rohit Sharma will lead Team India in the Test and ODI series. Another surprising fact is that Cheteshwar Pujara, who performed poorly for Team India in the World Test Championship (WTC Final 2023), has been dropped from the Test team. Earlier there were rumors about Pujara being dropped from the Test team. Now that rumor is true. Now Pujara has been left out of the Test team and the selection committee has chosen Ruturaj Gaikwad to replace him. At the same time, fast bowlers Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini have also been named in the Test squad. But Team India’s senior pacer Mohammad Shami has been rested from the ODI and Test series.

Test Series Schedule

India’s West Indies tour will begin with a Test series first. The 2-match Test series between the two teams will begin from July 12. The first Test match will be played from July 12 till 16. Dominica will host this first test. The 2nd Test will be played 4 days later, from 20th to 24th July. The Oval ground in Trinidad will host this match.

One Day Series Schedule

The ODI series will start from July 27, 3 days after the end of the Test series. Kingston Oval will host Barbados for the first ODI on July 27. Also, the 2nd ODI match on July 29 will also be held at the same ground. Finally, the last match of the ODI series will be played on August 1 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad. After that, the 5-match T20 series will start from August 3.
