Reservations for Ola Scooters start at Rs. 499 before their official launch

Ola Electric Mobility has opened reservations for its anticipated electric scooter – the Ola Scooter – and customers can reserve it for Rs. 499 as a refundable deposit. According to the company, those who reserve will receive priority delivery.The exact launch date of the vehicle has not yet been announced. The device’s debut is expected later this month, The Ola Electric and Bank of Baroda signed a 10-year debt financing agreement earlier this week for $100 million (roughly Rs. 745.50 crores) that will fund the company’s Ola Futurefactory, its manufacturing hub for electric two-wheelers.

Reservations can be made via the Ola Electric portal. The company has not yet revealed its exact price. There appeared to be access issues with the reservation website in the beginning, but the situation appears to have improved now.

“India’s EV revolution began today when we opened reservations for our electric scooter, the first of a range of upcoming electric vehicles.Its incredible performance, technology, and design coupled with its aggressive pricing will help accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility,” said Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Group CEO of Ola.

Back in December 2018, Ola began developing electric scooters in India by investing $100 million (Rs. 745.50 crores) in local startup Vogo.In 2019, Ola spun off its electric vehicle (EV) venture into Ola Electric and established a presence in Bengaluru.EV company announced an investment of Rs. 2,400 crores in its scooter plant in Tamil Nadu last year.

According to Ola Electric, their Ola Hypercharger Network boasts 100,000 high-speed charging points in more than 400 Indian cities, making it the world’s largest two-wheeler charging system. According to the report, it is expected to help establish 5,000 points across 100 cities within the first year.
