Political fight begins between wrestlers: Babita Phogat calls Sakshi Malik a ‘Congress puppet’

New Delhi: A political tussle has started between wrestlers protesting against BJP MP and WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh for sexual harassment.

Former Commonwealth Games gold medalist and BJP activist Babita Phogat has lashed out at Sakshi Malik and accused him of being a puppet of the Congress party.

He tweeted on social networking site Twitter, “I felt very sad watching the video of my sister Sakshi and her husband. Laughter also came. I would like to clarify that the permission letter shown by Sakshi Malik in this video is not signed by me. I have faith in honorable Prime Minister Modi and the judicial system of the country. Surely the truth will come out. As a female player, I stand with all the players in the country and will continue to do so. However, Sakshi said that it is clear to me that he is a puppet of the Congress in this case.

“You can eat bread made from almond flour, but we people in my country also eat bread made from wheat. People of the country understand that you are Congress puppet. It’s time to tell your true intentions,” said Babita.

There were accusations that the struggle of the wrestlers was politically motivated. In this background, Sakshi Malik and her husband Satyavarth Kadian shared an 11-minute video on Twitter clarifying this.

Their fight is against WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and not against the central government. They said that we have proof that we have taken prior permission from two BJP leaders to hold the protest. The documents about this were also shown in the video.

Babita clarified the issue and said that Sakshi is a puppet of the Congress.

Babita was also given a place in the oversight committee appointed by the Sports Ministry to investigate the allegations against Brijbhushan Sharan Singh. But Sakshi Malik was against this. Babita said that since she is in the BJP party, she can support Brij Bhushan, who is also a BJP MP.
