PM Modi thanked the UAE President for the welcome, said – will attend the COP-28 summit.

Abu Dhabi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) on Saturday discussed with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to further strengthen the multifaceted bilateral relations. Modi was accorded a traditional welcome at the Rashtrapati Bhawan ‘Qasr Al Watan’ here where he was received by the UAE President. The Prime Minister also inspected the Guard of Salute here. During this the children were carrying the tricolor in their hands.

PM Modi said in UAE, “I am grateful for your invitation and I always look forward to the opportunity to come here. I have decided to attend the COP-28 summit in the UAE.”

Earlier expressing his gratitude for the welcome at the airport, PM Modi wrote on Twitter, “Grateful to Crown Prince HH Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for receiving me at the airport today.”

Sectors such as energy, food security and defense are understood to be at the center of Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the UAE. During this, both the countries will review the progress made in their bilateral relations. The Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which gave a new impetus to the economic partnership between the two countries, was signed during the Kovid-19 pandemic.

India and the UAE are strengthening ties in areas such as trade, investment, energy, food security, science and technology, education, fintech, defence, security and people-to-people contacts.
