No BPL card for whiteboard car holders: Food Minister K H Muniyappa

Bengaluru, Aug 4, 2023: Food Minister K H Muniyappa has announced that those who own a car and have a BPL card will not have a BPL card. Food Minister K H Muniyappa said that those who have a whiteboard car do not have a BPL card.

Those who have a yellow board will have a BPL card. The BPL card of those who bought a car for the purpose of working will not be cancelled. He said the matter will be discussed soon and necessary action will be taken. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are the two states that have come forward to supply rice to the state for the Annabhagya scheme. Hence, it is proposed to give 10 kg of rice instead of money from September.

“We have requested for rice at the food corporation‘s rate and the authorities there are likely to decide within a week,” he said.

Instructions have been issued for issuance of new ration cards. The distribution of ration cards was stopped due to the implementation of the policy. Now we have instructed the officials to issue new ration cards. K H Muniyappa also said that the names of new members have been allowed to be added to the ration card.
