A new feature of WhatsApp: Allows silencing unknown call
Bengaluru, June 20: Meta has introduced a new feature on WhatsApp in the wake of increasing spam calls from unknown numbers.
It allows WhatsApp users to mute unknown calls automatically. This new feature will make WhatsApp private for more users and give users more control.
This feature is still in beta testing. The stable version is now available for Android and iOS smartphone users. The app automatically silences calls from unknown numbers when enabled through the privacy settings menu.

Make sure you have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone or update it via Google Play Store or Apple App Store. According to reports, the feature is already rolling out to phones like the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Realme 11 Pro+ with the stable version of WhatsApp.
Steps to silence an unknown call
1. Open WhatsApp
2. Click on the menu in the upper right corner
3. Go to settings
4. Click on Privacy
5. Select calls
6. Activate mute unknown callers.
Meta is adding new features to WhatsApp every week. The company recently introduced WhatsApp Channels in select markets. Also, WhatsApp has given the option to edit the sent messages for up to 15 minutes.
