Maruti Suzuki to set up new car manufacturing facility at Haryana at an estimated cost of ₹ 18,000 crore

The Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) will be setting up its third plant in Haryana for its estimated ₹ 18,000 crore proposed new car manufacturing project.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Tuesday said that this is a huge achievement for the state as Maruti is setting up its third plant in Haryana. He said that MSIL has purchased an additional 800 acres at IMT Kharkhoda land for its proposed new car manufacturing facility. The total project cost is estimated at ₹ 18,000 crore. It has 11,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons for potential employment. Along with MSIL, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) has also acquired a 100-acre land parcel for two-wheelers, including an integrated manufacturing facility. The total project cost is estimated at ₹ 1,466 crore, with 2,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons, he added.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) – Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL) and Haryana State Industrial -Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) are all set to sign an agreement on 800 acres and 100 acres of land at Industrial Model Township. IMT) Kharkhoda, respectively, in a ceremony slated to be held on May 19.

“India is doing well in the ease of doing business and the ease of living index and Haryana are both the fastest in the country. Haryana is one of the global investors for the favourite destinations. Maruti played a major role in the development of the automobile sector and the state of overall progress, ”said Mr. Lal. “This will give a huge boost to the automobile sector and the other multinational companies that will set up their headquarters and manufacturing plants in Haryana. Along with this, new employment opportunities will also be created for the youth of the state, ”he added.

Notably, after setting up its first car plant in Gurugram in 1983, Maruti has steadily expanded its manufacturing footprint in Haryana by setting up a manufacturing facility at Manesar and a state-of-the-art R&D center at Rohtak. The two plants in Haryana – Gurugram and Manesar, together with 15.5 lakh units annually, according to an official statement.
