Lockdown Restrictions in Udupi and five other districts have been Relaxed

Bangaluru : After chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa announced the Unlock 2.0 regulations and districts names, many people pushed for Udupi to be added to the list. Raghupati Bhat, an Udupi MLA, and Shobha Karandlaje Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP, have previously petitioned the CM to ease the lockdown restrictions in Udupi.

Lockdown restrictions in the Udupi district have been removed as of Monday, June 21 after taking into account the weekly moving average positive rate as of June 20.

With this ruling, all stores and commercial operations will be permitted to function from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. This includes 50 percent occupancy table service in restaurants and hotels, 50 percent occupancy bus service, and many more concessions granted to category 1 districts.

As a result, all additional activities are permitted till 5 a.m. on July 5 in Udupi and five other districts, including Bengaluru rural, Shivamogga, Ballari, Chitradurga, and Vijayapura, according to an order from the state government.

MP Shobha, earlier in the day speaking to media had said“Udupi’s health report will be obtained by the chief secretary”. I’ll ask for a complete relaxation of the lockdown restrictions,” she stated.

The district of Udupi should be opened up. In this regard, I have communicated with the state chief secretary. I also spoke with the deputy commissioner and obtained information from him. I’ll inform the chief minister about the state of the Udupi district. she said
