Mangalore, 26 September 2024 – KMC Hospital will stage a no‑fire cooking challenge on Saturday, 26 September, at 3.30 p.m., to celebrate World Heart Day. The event, titled “Let’s Cook Up a Storm While Keeping the Flames Off,” takes place at the Marena Sports Complex in Kaprigudda, Attavar.

Teams of up to three participants have one hour to create a maximum of two vegetarian dishes and one beverage using only raw or fresh ingredients. No processed or pre‑cooked items are allowed. Organisers will supply power outlets for electrical appliances; contestants must bring their own blenders or mixers if needed.

Judging will focus on taste, presentation and nutritional value, with an emphasis on heart‑healthy choices. Pramod Kunder, Cluster Director of Manipal Hospitals, explained that the aim is to demonstrate that nutritious meals can be simple and enjoyable, encouraging families and food lovers to explore healthier cooking methods.
