Harekala Hajabba among award winners of Beary Academy 2021

Manguluru : The Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy has announced the recipients of honorary prizes and honorary felicitations in the field of Beary language and culture for the year 2021. Harekala Hajabba for his services to language and education, Hussain Katipalla for Beary art and literature, and E.K. Siddique Adda for his contributions to beary art and literature,  Academy president Rahim Uchchil said  in a statement released here. Harekala Hajabba, who has been nominated for an Academy Award, will get the honours, according to Academy President Rahim Uchchil.

In a statement released today, Academy president Rahim Uchchil said the prizes would be given to Harekala Hajabba for his work in language and education, Hussain Katipalla for Beary art and literature, and E.K. Siddique Addur for Beary culture and social service. The awards come with a monetary prize of $50,000 as well as a commendation. Ashraf Apolo in music, K.A. Munir Bawa in organisational skills, Mariam Fauzia Biyas as a woman achiever, Beary Zulfi as a youthful star, Mohammed Basheer Ustad in Daff, and Faraz Ali as a child prodigy will be honoured. The awards come with a monetary prize of $10,000 as well as a commendation. Mr. Uchchil said the award presentation ceremony would be held at Shivamogga on a suitable date after COVID-19 pandemic subsides and normality returns.
