Griha Jyoti Scheme; New update given by Govt

 

Bangalore, July 12; One of the guarantees given by the Congress during the Karnataka assembly elections was the ‘Griha Jyoti’ scheme. The application for the project is already underway. This scheme will be implemented in August and registration is mandatory to be a beneficiary of the scheme.

The Energy Department has started submission of applications for the ‘Griha Jyoti’ project from Sunday, June 18. Free up to 200 units for domestic consumers in the state electricity People are enrolling for the giving scheme.

 

To become a beneficiary of ‘Griha Jyoti’ scheme one can apply online by visiting Seva Sindhu Portal (https://sevasindhugs.karnataka.gov.in/). Apart from this, application submission is also allowed at the nearest electricity office, Bangalore One, Gram One and Karnataka One Centre. Now the government has given another update to the scheme registration.

 

Bapuji Service Center; ‘Griha Jyoti’ is an ambitious project of the Government of Karnataka. It has also allowed rural beneficiaries to submit applications for scheme registration at Bapuji Seva Kendra in Gram Panchayats of the district. 20 per application to submit applications at this center. It is requested that the beneficiaries can register themselves under the ‘Griha Jyoti’ scheme at the Bapuji Seva Kendra in their local Gram Panchayat without paying any additional fee.

Gram Panchayats have been given logins of Sewasindhu portal for registration of ‘Griha Jyoti’ scheme. People can take advantage of it and get registered.

Registration is easy; The ‘Griha Jyoti’ scheme will come into effect on August 1, 2023 (from July electricity consumption bill). Beneficiaries who were within the eligibility limits of the scheme will get zero bill from August 1. Registration is mandatory to become a beneficiary.

Speaking about the project, Energy Minister K. J. George clarified, “There is no deadline to register to be a Griha Jyothi Yojana beneficiary.”

People have to provide Aadhaar card, customer ID details (as in electricity bill) while applying for ‘Griha Jyoti’ scheme. Registration is made easy.

* Account holder name as in Eskom

* Account holder address as per Eskom

* Name of Eskom1

* Type of user (there are two options Tenant/Owner).

* Aadhaar Number

* Name of applicant

* Phone number details should be entered for communication. Register by entering the OTP sent to the mobile number linked to the Aadhaar card.
