Bangalore, May 30: Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Karnataka for the Rajya Sabha polls has been elected as the third candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Jaggesh, a renowned Kannada actor and actor from the state, is the candidate of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
On Monday, the party announced the name of Lehar Singh as its third candidate. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will field three of its candidates for the Rajya Sabha polls on Tuesday.
Elections to 57 Rajya Sabha seats: Elections to 57 Rajya Sabha seats in 15 states, including Karnataka, will be held on June 10. There are 11 seats in Uttar Pradesh alone. Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra have six each. There are five seats in Bihar, four each in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan.
How many seats can the party win ?: Of the 57 seats, Congress is expected to win eight seats. If all non-BJP parties get the support of Rajasthan, the Congress could win an additional seat.
