Annabhagya: The state government has decided to give cash instead of extra 5 kg of rice
Bangalore: The state Congress government, which had announced to give 10 kg of rice to every BPL family under Annabhagya Yojana, has decided to give money for 5 kg of rice in view of not being able to arrange additional rice.
Yes, already under Annabhagya Yojana 5.kg rice is being given free to BPL families and it has been decided to give ₹170 for the remaining additional 5kg rice after the Cabinet meeting, Food Minister K.H. Muniyappa said.
The money will be deposited in the bank account of BPL beneficiaries from the month of July itself. The government has decided to give money till the stock of rice is reached.
