The Kundapur Volleyball Association together with Kundapur Friends Volleyball Club will host the KFK Trophy 2026, an all‑India men's volleyball tournament played under floodlights at Gandhi Maidan, Kundapur, from the evening of the 25th to the 27th.
President of the Kundapur Taluk Volleyball Association, Krishna Prasad Adyantay, disclosed the schedule during a press meet at Sai Comfort, situated near Court Restaurant close to the new bus stand. He confirmed that matches will commence each day at 6 p.m.
The association was founded around the year 2000 when a local volleyball player suffered a serious accident. Its original aim was to provide financial assistance to the injured athlete, and for the past 25 years it has pursued the broader goal of promoting volleyball and encouraging young talent.
Marking its 40th anniversary, Kundapur Friends Volleyball Club highlighted four decades of continuous support for the sport, producing several district, state and national level players.
Six prominent men's teams from across India have received invitations. National‑level athletes will compete, while experienced referees supervise the games. The teams are divided into two groups, with a league‑style schedule determining the finalists.
Winners will claim an attractive trophy and cash prizes: first place 4 lakh rupees, second 3 lakh, third 2 lakh and fourth 1 lakh. Individual excellence will also be recognised with trophies and monetary awards for the top six performers.
The opening ceremony is slated for 6 p.m. on the 25th, and a closing ceremony will conclude the event on the evening of the 27th.
Dignitaries present include honorary presidents Rajesh Karant (KVA) and Rajesh Kaveri (KFC), president Ramananda K., treasurer Sudheer K.S., BJP district president Suresh Shetty, jeweller owner Naveen Hegde and several local leaders and officials.
