On October 8, 2026, Puttur Rural Police seized the house and cowshed belonging to Shivaprasad, a resident of Devasya in Aryapu village, after linking the property to illegal cattle transport case A.Kr: 125/2026.

The investigation began on October 5 when Sub‑Inspector Sushma G. Bhandari received a tip that a pickup was moving cattle toward Kerala. Acting on the information, she and her team set up a checkpoint near Beliyoorukatte in Balnadu village. When the vehicle was stopped, officers discovered eleven cattle packed tightly inside, a clear violation of animal‑welfare norms.

As the police approached, the driver and an accomplice fled the scene. The fleeing individuals were later apprehended by Sampya police, and a formal case was lodged stating that the cattle were intended for meat sale in Kerala without any transport permits.

Further inquiries traced the illegal sale back to Shivaprasad's residence. Spot inspections revealed that cattle had been sold from his house without the required licences. Consequently, police arrested Shivaprasad on charges of unlicensed cattle sale and, following legal procedures, seized his house and the adjoining cowshed on October 8.

Investigators continue to hunt for the absent pickup driver and an additional suspect. In the meantime, two other accused—Haspar alias Ammi of Saroli and Ibrahim Madala of Sattikallu, Kedila village—have been taken into custody, rounding up the key figures linked to the October 5 operation.
