Police in Sharjah have confirmed that the body of Prakash Kundar, a 48‑year‑old man originally from Udupi, was discovered inside his own vehicle on September 22, 2026. The discovery follows a missing‑person report filed after the man vanished in late July.
Kundar had been employed at Sharjah Airport, while his spouse, Tina, worked as a teacher. The couple, married for roughly two decades, shared a son who is studying in Class 10. Relatives say there were no known serious disputes between them.
On July 20, Kundar reached out to his brother with a text message – a departure from his usual voice‑message habit. When his brother requested a phone call, the line went silent. Concerned relatives then approached his employer, who claimed the employee had travelled to India.
Kundar failed to appear in his native Udupi after the alleged trip, prompting family members to alert Sharjah authorities. Police launched a search, eventually locating his dismembered body inside the car. Autopsy reports indicate multiple stab wounds.
Investigators are now focusing on the disappearance of Tina and the boy. Preliminary inquiries have placed the wife under suspicion, although concrete evidence linking her to the homicide remains absent. Some reports suggest the pair may have crossed the border to India after leaving Sharjah.
The family is awaiting the repatriation of Kundar's remains, a process that will proceed once legal formalities in the United Arab Emirates are completed. Further updates on the status of the wife and child are expected as the probe continues.
