Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav initiated a four-day visit to Dubai on Sunday, engaging in high-level discussions with Indian diplomatic officials aimed at strengthening economic engagement and bilateral ties between his state and the United Arab Emirates. During these initial meetings, CM Yadav met with Indian Ambassador to the UAE Deepak Mittal and Consul General of India in Dubai and Northern Emirates E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy.
Discussions during the Sunday meetings focused on how the Indian Mission can promote greater economic cooperation and facilitate stronger business and investment linkages. Chief Minister Yadav specifically sought the mission's assistance in connecting Madhya Pradesh with UAE Sovereign Wealth Funds, leading corporate groups, business organizations, and institutional investors, with the objective of attracting significant capital to the state.
Addressing reporters, CM Yadav emphasized that investor engagement is a two-way dialogue based on mutual opportunities. He highlighted Madhya Pradesh's extensive scope for investment across various sectors, including mining, heavy industry, MSMEs, and hospitality. The Chief Minister also pointed to growing strengths in renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, textiles, logistics, advanced manufacturing, and urban infrastructure. He further mentioned the development of a 'Science City' within Madhya Pradesh as a potential hub for innovation and technological investment.
A key purpose of the visit is to invite global participation in the Global Investors Summit (GIS) 2027, which Madhya Pradesh is preparing to host. CM Yadav extended personal invitations to both Ambassador Mittal and Consul General Reddy. He also held a meeting with Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi and other members, inviting them to the upcoming summit.
The agenda also covered opportunities in food processing and agriculture, focusing on bolstering value chains and developing essential infrastructure for processing, storage, transportation, and export. Discussions included cold chain infrastructure, agricultural logistics, and the potential for long-term export opportunities, as Madhya Pradesh seeks to leverage its agricultural strengths and enhance international market connectivity. This Dubai visit underscores Madhya Pradesh's strategy to expand its engagement with global investors and institutions, building robust economic partnerships ahead of GIS 2027.
