In September 2026, twenty‑one learners from the professional commerce wing of Alvas Degree College in Mudbidri cleared the Chartered Accountant (CA) Intermediate examination, marking a significant achievement for the institution.
Rakhsha Ramachandra Nayak topped both groups on his first attempt, scoring 435 marks and securing the 49th position nationwide, thereby bringing prestige to the college. Overall, 21 candidates passed the exam.
For Group‑1, the national pass percentage stood at 23.14 per cent, while Alvas contributed 18 successful candidates, translating to a 54.54 per cent pass rate for the college. In Group‑2, the national pass rate was 18.92 per cent; nine Alvas students cleared the test, yielding a 31.03 per cent college‑specific rate. Across both groups, the national pass figure was 13.21 per cent, with six Alvas students succeeding, giving the college a 23.08 per cent outcome.
Among the high‑scorers in Group‑1 were Rakhsha Ramachandra Nayak (435), Avani Umesh Rao (415), Fatima Asna (388), Ankita Rao (372), Jaishnav G. (318) and Prajwal K. (307). Group‑2 saw notable marks from Prasidh M. Poojari (172), Sakshi R. Pai (170) and Sumukh Velankar (162). Additional passers in Group‑1 included Pratish Antony D’Souza (184), Swati (183), Aparna Sudhi (164), Bhat Amisha (163), Harshita Poojari (163), Tejaswini K.S. (163), J. Basavaraj (160), Prajnya N. (159), Sahana Kumari (151), Mizba Sheikh (150), Nisha U. Shetty (150) and Chaitanya Srinagar (150).
The college attributes these results to a structured preparation regime: six mock tests, a series of pre‑exam assessments, and daily study sessions of ten to twelve hours over the past three months. Dr. M. Mohan, president of Alvas Education Trust, congratulated the students, highlighting the institution’s continuous guidance, focused exam‑readiness support and student‑centred approach as key drivers of success.
Rakhsha, currently pursuing a B.Com second year alongside CA studies, expressed his ambition to secure a top rank in the upcoming CA final examinations.
