Mangaluru will host Scintilla 2026 on 11 and 12 September, a two‑day national conference titled Multiverse: Infinite Dimensions of Psychology, organised by the Department of M.Sc. Counselling, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, in partnership with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell.

The event, sponsored by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited, aims to bring together students, research scholars, academicians, psychologists, counsellors and mental health professionals to discuss emerging trends and challenges in the field.

Keynote sessions include Dr V Premanand speaking on Beyond Pathology: The Infinite Dimensions of Human Flourishing, Dr Ajith Sankar on Youth and Behavioural Intelligence, and Mr Isaac Thomas on Climate Change and Mental Health.

Opening ceremonies will see Prof Mathew C Ninan, Director of Little Rock Indian School, Brahmavar, as chief guest, with Dr Cecilia Farida Goveas, Controller of Examinations at Roshni Nilaya, presiding. The closing ceremony will feature Ms Privy D’Souza as chief guest and Dr Saritha D’Souza, IQAC Coordinator, as presiding officer.

Beyond academic talks, the conference will host creative events such as the Devil Wears Prada fashion walk, The Cosmic Divide dance drama, Mind on Canvas painting contest, The Final Frame reel‑making competition and The Wolf of Multiverse business management challenge. Overall champions will receive a special cash prize.

Scintilla, launched in 2015, has grown into a national platform for learning, innovation and collaboration in psychology and mental health. The School of Social Work, founded in 1960, and its Department of M.Sc. Counselling, started in 2007, continue to promote mental well‑being, reduce stigma and train ethical professionals. The institution earned an A grade re‑accreditation from NAAC in 2022.
