Mangalore recently hosted a significant gathering where Sabiha Fatima, editor-in-chief of women's magazine 'Anupama', asserted that the Seerat of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) provides a profound example for peace, justice, mercy, and harmony across mankind. Speaking as the chief guest at a friendship program held at Shadi Mahal, Fatima underscored the timeless relevance of the Prophet's life message.
The event, jointly organized by Jamaat Islami Hind Mangalore's South and North units alongside its Women's Division, formed part of the broader 'Krantiya Jyoti Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) Seerat Abhiyan'. Fatima elaborated on core Islamic concepts, including monotheism, prophethood, and the concept of heaven, explaining their vital role in understanding humanity's connection to its Creator, life's purpose, and post-death responsibilities.
She emphasized that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) embodied values of truth, justice, mercy, tolerance, and humanity throughout his life. His actions and lifestyle, Fatima noted, offer comprehensive guidance, applicable from an individual's personal journey to the dynamics of family and wider society. The Seerah's message, she stressed, transcends communal boundaries, advocating universal love, respect, coexistence, justice, and mutual cooperation — values she deemed increasingly crucial in today's often-divided social landscape.
The program commenced with Shehnaz Zainab's recitation of selected Holy Quran verses, followed by a devotional rendition in Kannada by Sumayya Sayeed. Sajida Moomin extended a warm welcome, outlining the Seerat Abhiyan's objective to introduce the Prophet's life and message to society while fostering friendship and mutual understanding among diverse communities. An interactive session followed Sabiha Fatima's address. The evening also featured Farzana and her entourage singing praises of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), with Shahida Umar skillfully presenting the program. Aofifa concluded the event with a vote of thanks.
