Mangaluru witnessed the annual general meeting of Highland Islamic Forum India on 25 August 2024, where members elected Rizwan Pandeshwar as the organisation’s new president for a three‑year term.

The gathering took place at the Forum’s headquarters, with Mohammed Kunhi delivering the chief guest address and Shuhaib, former president of the HIF Qatar wing, joining the proceedings. Delegates from across the coastal region participated, underscoring the Forum’s growing network.

During the session, members expressed gratitude to Adil Farvez, whose three‑year tenure concluded at this meeting. Praise focused on his efforts to expand community programmes, strengthen inter‑faith dialogue and improve the Forum’s outreach in the district.

Following a transparent voting process, Rizwan Pandeshwar secured the presidency, while Bilal Raif was appointed secretary. Both candidates received overwhelming support from the assembled membership, signalling confidence in their capacity to lead.

The agenda highlighted the need for unity, cooperation and collective responsibility among members. Attendees pledged full backing to the new leadership, committing to sustain and broaden the Forum’s educational, charitable and cultural initiatives. The AGM closed with a renewed sense of purpose, as members resolved to advance the Highland Islamic Forum’s mission with vigor and dedication for the coming years.
