Mangaluru, 22 August 2024 — The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Bearys Institute of Technology marked Sadbhavana Day with a series of student competitions, collaborating with the campus Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) and the National Service Scheme (NSS).
Dr. Mehboob Mujawar, head of the AI and Data Science department, and Dr. Kafeel Delvi, NSS program officer, opened the event by outlining the day's purpose. Both emphasised the need for unity, harmony, peace and mutual respect in society, urging participants to translate these values into creative expression.
Following the introductory remarks, students took part in speech, poster making, singing and dance contests. The activities were designed to unleash talent while reinforcing the message of togetherness. Competitors displayed enthusiasm, delivering speeches on communal solidarity, designing posters that blended local culture with universal peace symbols, and performing songs and dances that highlighted regional heritage.
Coordination of the programme fell to Dr. Mujawar and Safreena, the NSS coordinator, with support from Meghana, IIC coordinator, and Dr. Delvi. The event was hosted by Nadiya and Madiha, who guided the audience through each segment and announced winners.
Students expressed that the day provided a platform to showcase their abilities beyond academics, while also reinforcing the core ideals of Sadbhavana. Organisers noted that the blend of academic and cultural activities strengthened campus cohesion and encouraged a spirit of collective responsibility.
Overall, the celebration succeeded in merging educational objectives with community values, leaving participants motivated to uphold unity and peace within and beyond the institute.
