On August 15, Surathkal witnessed a unique celebration of the 80th Independence Day, as the SSF Unit office played host to the 401st blood donation camp of the SSF Blood Saibo series. This event was jointly organized by the Karnataka Muslim Jamaat, Sunni Yuvajana Sangha, and Sunni Students Federation Surathkal Circle Committees, in association with K.S. Hegde Hospital, Mangaluru. The camp was held in memory of Marhoom Ashraf. The program commenced with the hoisting of the national flag by distinguished guests and organizers, followed by a message on patriotism, harmony, and the importance of blood donation by Bashir Madani Kulur, Khatib of Kulur Juma Masjid. Hanif Sakhafi Kinya, Khatib of Surathkal Mohiyuddin Juma Masjid, presided over the program, while Rajmohan, former principal of Govinda Dasa College, attended as the chief guest. Several prominent individuals, including I. Yakub Idya, S.K. Mustafa, and Jeeshan Ali, participated in the event, which saw active participation from local youth and the public. The blood donation camp collected a significant amount of blood, which was handed over to the K.S. Hegde Hospital blood bank with the assistance of the hospital’s medical team. The organizers extended their gratitude to all blood donors, dignitaries, and volunteers who contributed to the success of the program.
