On Sunday, the Suratkal Bantar Sangha, in collaboration with Mahila Vidhyam, hosted the Aatida Porlu and Felicitation Program at the Suratkal Bantar Bhawan. KPCC General Secretary Mithun Rai, the chief guest, praised the Suratkal Bantar Sangha as a model for all Sanghas due to its unity and social programs. He promised to support the Sangha in all ways, without involving politics. Aikala Harish Shetty, President of the Global Federation of Bantar Associations, emphasized the importance of the Bantar community helping other communities beyond caste boundaries. Prof. Akshay R. Shetty gave a motivational speech, while other notable speakers included Mangalore Bantar Yane Nadava Matru Sangh General Secretary M. Karunakara Shetty and Tulu World Foundation President Bhanumathi Shetty Kakwaguthu. The event also saw the felicitation of several individuals, including Yukti P. Shetty, a national awardee for best NCC cadet, and experts in various fields such as agriculture, literature, and fine art. Jagannath Shetty Bala, president of Suratkal Bantar Sangh, presided over the function, which was attended by Mangalore North MLA Bharat Shetty Y. and other dignitaries.
