On a recent visit to Udupi, Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Amit Singh emphasized the importance of upholding the Constitution and prioritizing law enforcement for police personnel. As the chief guest at the parade of the 14th batch of Armed Reserve Police Constables, Singh stressed that diligence, community connection, and knowledge are essential for performing duty. He also highlighted the need for professionalism and patience, particularly when working under extreme pressure.
Singh participated in the event organized by the Udupi District Provisional Police Training School, where he received a guard of honor. The principal of the training school, Sudhakar Naik, mentioned that the trainees included ex-servicemen and individuals with advanced degrees. The ten-month training program covered a range of subjects, including law, computer skills, mental health, physical education, yoga, karate, drill, and weapon training.
Awards were presented to trainees who excelled in various categories, including indoor, outdoor, and firing. Shivappa Chennabasappa Itnal received the all-round award for his outstanding performance in three categories. Other notable performers included Shivappa Hitnal, Bhuvanesh K.C., and Amaresh Parasurama Bola Shetty in the indoor category, and Manjunath Kariappa Doddamani, Rudregowda, and Manoj K. in the outdoor section. Renuka Prasad P.V. secured the top position in target training, followed by Panduranga Mahadevappa Doddamane and Sangamesh Meti.
The event was attended by District Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, who welcomed the guests, and Additional Superintendent of Police Sudhakar Nayka, who delivered the vote of thanks. ACP Yogesh narrated the program, which aimed to inspire the new recruits to adhere to the Constitution and perform their duties with dedication and professionalism.
